The Optomap ultra-wide digital retinal imaging system can capture more then 80% of your retina in one panoramic image. This allows for your doctor to detect retinal tears, peripheral retinal defects as well as early signs of diseases that appear on your retina such as macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
The Optomap is a great tool to use in addition to dilation or when a patient can’t be dilated. In certain cases the Optomap can be superior to dilation when it is hard to view the retina such as light sensitive patients or children.
